Our client is looking for a Talent Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, there is flexible working from home in this role, although some attendance will be required across national sites for face to face events.
The purpose of the role is to design, develop, implement and manage the approach to career development and talent management for all employees
Lead the Talent Management team, delivering high quality and business focused products for ‘potential’ identification; career development pathways and guidance; progression and postings; and succession planning.
Key Duties –
-Develop and leverage relationships with Senior Stakeholders in order to develop a business aligned understanding of capability needs
-Oversee the design, development of succession planning / talent management initiatives and career development pathways / advice etc to bridge gaps and deliver future workforce capacity and capability.
-Oversee the design and manage the potential/talent identification, progression linking this to the postings approach within and providing feedback to the Chief Officer Group.
-Report against KPIs to ensure that all initiatives are being complied with and effectively contributing towards strategic objectives and outcomes
-Act as a subject matter expert on wide programmes and projects which will impact on the ‘capability’ of the workforce, designing new and enhanced career development approaches to ensure operational needs are met
-Oversee and manage the Coaching and Mentoring strategy ensuring this is embedded and continually evolved to ensure benefits are realised across the Force.
-Work closely with Recruitment, WFP, L&D team to ensure a seamless, operationally driven and service is provided across the Force
-Act as project manager for initiatives which externally accredit approach to career development / talent management (e.g. new PDR process), changing the approach where required to ensure in-house provision has an external market currency.
-Support the upskilling of HR Business Partnering teams with career development / talent management knowledge, skills, expertise and tools to enable them to deliver / drive more effective career development practice
-Together with the P&C SMT continually develop / evolve a strategy / plan to improve the performance management process so employee performance is maximized.
Degree CMI Level 5 coaching certificate or equivalent.
MCIPD qualified (or working towards it currently) or equivalent experience
Experience: Experience of managing and implementing approaches to succession planning, career development and talent identification
