Senior Environmental Health Officer
A client of ours in Central London is looking for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to join their team for a period of 3 months, the main duties and responsibilities will be to lead on case work and the processing of highly complex correspondence, ensuring it is effectively and efficiently carried out to identifiable deadlines in a manner that is successful in meeting the targets and objectives.
Take a pro-active approach to problem solving, and work within the policies and procedures to address the diverse nature of the job, in terms of the type and size of the premises visited, the relative risk they present to residents, workers and visitors to the area, and in some situations the need to protect and enhance the lives of vulnerable groups in society.
To complete programmed inspections concerning environmental health following service policy and procedures to achieve an appropriate outcome, Investigation of service requests, including programmed inspections and use of appropriate enforcement action in line with the community strategy, corporate plan and departmental enforcement policies.
Prepare appropriate specifications, reports, notices, schedules and other related documentation and initiate prosecutions for failure to comply with statutory instruments where appropriate and ensure appropriate and timely responses to all correspondence, complaints and enquiries from the service users, stakeholders, senior officers within agreed timescales and in line with Customer Care Standards.
Work Context

* A thorough understanding & adherence of the Health & Safety Policy & guidance is imperative. You will know how to handle a wide range of situations and be prepared to receive advice and training to enhance your skills.

Essential Qualifications/Requirements

* BSc or Diploma in Environmental Health and be eligible for EHORB registration as an EHO.
* Have a detailed knowledge / understanding of the legislative framework relevant to the team and its application to casework.

Hourly rate dependent on experience,
Please note this role falls inside IR35.
