Risk Management Technician
I have a 2 month contract (with the view to extend) for a Risk Management Technician to be based in Dudley (DY2). This is paying £11 per hour via umbrella. Please send me your updated CV to apply.
To investigate and process third party insurance claims.
Relevant experience undertaking equivalent or similar work.
Good standard of education, particularly in English and Maths.
Specific Accountabilities · To be responsible for establishing the basis which third party claims are made and to identify the circumstances associated with the claim. · To investigate and establish the details of the claim, including interviewing of claimants or their representatives, determining the precise location and cause of the alleged incident and obtaining photographic evidence. · To keep accurate and concise records of all claims submitted to the Department relating to incidents upon the highway. · To compile a detailed factual report in respect of the claim, in particular making reference to all relevant highway records, documents and inspection reports held by the Council. Including completion of any necessary claims forms as issued by the Risk Management Section. · To report, to the relevant Council Officer, on hazards identified on the highway during the course of investigations. · Where claims proceed to a court of summary jurisdiction, to be responsible for assembling evidence on behalf of the Council, including obtaining sworn affidavits from witnesses, giving evidence, and liaising with the Council’s legal representatives, including expert witnesses, Solicitors and Barristers. · To respond to enquiries from elected members and the general public, including face-to-face meetings, telephone calls etc., and where required, provide written responses on technical issues appertaining to highway claims. · To investigate loss and damage to vehicles/plant/property and organise minor repair works. · To liaise with fellow Officers and other Departments within the Council as required. · To comply with protocols associated with Court guidelines and to liaise with the Risk Management Section in respect of personal injury and property damage claims. · To collate statistical information and provide reports as and when required by senior management with regards to trends associated with risk management issues. · To comply with the requirements of the Divisional Code of Practice, Procedures, the Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Regulations and the Divisional Safety Policy.
