Railway Operations Energy Strategy Lead – up to £59,000 per annum + a 20% uplift- Birmingham- Permanent

My Client has released an exciting opportunity to work with a public sector client based in Birmingham as a Railway Operations Energy Strategy Lead.

Based in the Infrastructure Directorate (ID), the post holder will play a valuable role in supporting in delivering on its vision to be a catalyst for growth across Britain, by developing and embedding processes and systems to minimise energy consumption and associated CO2 emissions during operation of the scheme.

To successfully undertake this role, the post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues in and with others in the wider rail and energy industries to identify, evaluate and where appropriate, implement technologies, commercial agreements, processes and initiatives that will help achieve its commitments for energy efficiency and minimisation of CO2 emissions.

This is a varied and exciting role that will enable the post holder to exercise and further develop a range of skills across energy strategy development, procurement, project management, analyses, stakeholder management, requirements gathering and innovation.

The Operational Energy Strategy Lead will be the key point of contact for operational energy-related issues in ID. Accordingly, the post holder will lead a diverse range of procurement, planning, project implementation and stakeholder management activities to ensure that energy supply contracts are in place for the commissioning and operations, and that the requisite resources (including people), systems, processes and technologies are in place to maximise the opportunities to minimise energy use, minimise CO2 emissions and achieve value for money in respect of energy costs.
