Project Manager – Permanent – £40,000 up to £50,000 per annum – Reading

Office based role (temporarily home-based). 3 days office, and 2 days home (no negotiation on this).

Our client is a large telecommunications organisation who requires an experienced Project Manager to support on phase two of an IT Software Transformation Project.


* Identify the project scope, goals and deliverables to support the project delivery
* Identify the tasks and resources required to deliver the project and produce a project plan to outline timelines, dependencies and critical paths
* Manage project costs within the project budget allocated
* Agree 3rd party suppliers and ensure standards of delivery, product specification and documentation are aligned to project requirements
* Track progress against project deliverables and report progress to customers and other stakeholders
* Use defined processes to manage changes to project scope, risks, issues and overall project governance. Escalating where necessary
* Deliver an effective handover to the customer, ensuring capability to maintain agreed standards of performance
* Evaluate each project against its scope and goals, producing a Project Closure Report


* Technical Knowledge – understanding and interest in the current technologies
* Stakeholder Management – builds good relationships with stakeholders, identifying them systematically and considering levels of influence and needs; can work across multiple teams
* Risk and Issues Management – uses tools and process to identify and manage risks and issues effectively
* Continuous Improvement – proactively maintains professional knowledge and practice, drives and implements improvements to processes, systems and reporting
* Change Management – follows process to manage change to the scope of projects and updates configuration documents as required
* Frameworks, methodologies and Quality Management – developing knowledge of Project Management lifecycles, project governance, methodologies, Quality Management Systems and processes
* Documentation – documents the basic components of projects including scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, opportunities, risks and quality; follows reporting procedures to keep stakeholders updated
* Planning and Scheduling – uses appropriate planning and scheduling tools and techniques to schedule activity and deliver the project outcomes
* Financial Management – manages budgets for projects and controls forecast and actual costs against them
* Procurement – use the procurement process for the provision of goods and/or services and manages compliance and delivery
* Solution Development – determines the best means to satisfy requirements and meet customer needs in line with project objectives and constraints
