STR Group are pleased to consider applications for the position of a Highway Engineer and Operational Supervisor.

Required skills and experience:

Demonstrable experience of developing, planning and applying solutions to engineering issues.
Practice in CDM, NEC3, Health & Safety and Chapter 8.
Experience in Contract Management, DEFRA, Environment Agency Grant Application processes and Procurement.
Demonstrable experience supervising and planning works on highway and engineering assets.
Former involvement in the operational leadership of health and safety events relating to civil and emergency response delivery and highway delivery services.
Experience delivering excellent customer service.
Excellent motivational skills.
Adept at using Auto-CAD type systems.
Ability to working independently and with own initiative.
Experience delivering cost effective engineering and highway maintenance programmes.
Working knowledge of Highway, Civil Engineering and Emergency response legislation.
Solid team-player.
Full Driving License.

Desirable skills and experience:

Project management experience.
HNC in Engineering or Transport.
Degree qualified in Engineering.
Chartered Engineer.

Our client is a borough council and they are looking for a highly motivated, results driven and customer focused Highway Engineer and Operational Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for the operational supervision and organisation of the design, viability, and delivery of major highway and civil engineering planned works. You will be supporting the Service Lead – Engineering, Highways, Parking & Licensing.

This is a 6 month Contract position working 37 hours per week working in Redcar.
