Corporate Solicitor

Corporate Lawyer – Southampton – 1 year FTC – £45,000-£55,000

Our client is looking for a Corporate Solicitor to provide a high quality and timely legal service relating to all aspects of (including strategic advice) corporate and information law

Main job responsibilities:

* To be responsible for a personal caseload, including local government decision making, strategic portfolio advice, major projects, complaints and information governance projects.
* To advise, assist and deliver all aspects of corporate and information governance work for the Southampton & Fareham Legal Services Partnership.
* To draft (with support as necessary from the Senior Solicitor) various policies, Agreements and other documentation on behalf of the Councils of varying degrees of complexity, including instructing Counsel where appropriate.
* To undertake such other duties as may be allocated from time to time by the Senior Solicitor, the Service Lead or Service Director for Legal & Governance.

The perfect candidate will:

* Bachelor’s degree in Law or other equivalent qualifying degree together with Post-Graduate Degree in Legal Practice. SRA Admitted and practicing solicitor or barrister.
* To demonstrate an understanding of equality issues and how they affect the workplace and individual behaviours.
* To have delivered a service to diverse client demands in accordance with service level agreements and/or customer service standards.
* To have experience of delivering a service within a budget and operating in accordance with financial policy and requirements.
* To have an existing knowledge base of decision making within a local government context
* To have knowledge and experience of dealing with information governance and complaints

This is a hybrid working role with the possibility of having to attend the office once a week or less.
