Communications Manager – £70,000 per annum paye – Contract initially until 30th June 2022 (view to extend to 18 months)

Hybrid role – must be onsite in Cambridge office 50%

Our client is a global technology organisation who requires a Communications Manager to support a team that creates disruptive new technologies for the cloud. You will be responsible for strategically managing the communications and events for their organisation. They are looking for creativity and focus that streamlines the communication strategy and keeps events engaging and effective across a wide variety of audiences. Additionally, you will need to be comfortable managing and coordinating the numerous details that need to come together to execute a successful event.

Responsibilities:

* Run their customer engagement programme, including their programme to engage with customers through using samples
* Develop and execute a communications strategy that aligns to their goals and priorities
* Determine the most effective modes and rhythms that ensure clarity and engagement across the team
* Gather input from key stakeholders (leadership team, business managers, initiative leaders, communications managers outside the team, etc.) to ensure context from both outside the groups and within the sub-groups is considered as we build out our plans
* Define the communications calendar for key themes and engagements, and work closely with the business management community to cascade within the team
* Measure programme and event effectiveness, document learnings, and leverage for the future
* Go beyond just the facts to build stories that help the team understand the business goals they want to achieve and empathise with the customers they serve
* Build communications in a variety of mediums: presentations, talking points, briefs for speeches, Q&A sessions, emails, and video scripts
* Target communications to a variety of forums and audiences including internal (Teams posts, newsletters, website spotlights, and ad hoc communications from executives) and external (social media content, executive level keynotes, customer engagements, and conferences)
* Oversee the creation of content (e.g. videos and animations) that explain the technologies that we are creating to targeted at different audiences
* Plan events throughout the year including:

* Corporate tours and events
* Fireside chats
* Hack events
* External and internal speaker events
* Ad hoc meetings

* Drive collaborative discussions and decisions with key stakeholders and executives
* Lead communications for the events through email, Teams channels and their website

Requirements:

* 5+ years experience in communications, preferably from within the technology industry
* Exceptional written communications skills demonstrated with samples of work. Proven strong presentation and content development experience. Experience in providing support to build SharePoint portals
* Demonstrated ability to synthesise the complex – able to take multiple, technical, disparate inputs from a variety of conversations, materials and evidence, and transform them into simple, clear, succinct, elegant, and compelling communication elements, such as talking points, Q&A, social media content, etc.;
* Proven ability to listen and collaborate well – building and drawing upon a wide network, sparking great ideas, gathering and incorporating feedback and ideas from multiple stakeholders and international team members
* Commitment to high-standards of quality and attention to detail
* High capacity for multi-tasking and project management skills – able to manage multiple, high-stakes projects and deliverables simultaneously
* Resourceful and solution-oriented, and not afraid to ask questions if you don’t know the answer. Ability to deal with/thrive in the face of ambiguity
* Self-directed with great initiative and strong sense of ownership and accountability
* Highly comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; demonstrates poise under pressure and resilience
