The primary objective of the BDM role will be to develop new contract and permanent business opportunities in support of their allocated brands. An element of the role will also be the strategic development of key accounts, and the introducing of other relevant Group brands to our current customer base.

Taking direction from the Group Sales Director, the BDM will research target customers, map stakeholders within their organisation and engage with them.

They will develop a pipeline of credible opportunities, and meet, present and construct proposals with the support of the Strategic Sales and Bids teams. They will secure the first contingent roles with new customers, and execute solutions such as contractor projects, recruitment campaigns and retained programmes. Always with a view to developing accounts to a future stage where exclusivity and managed service opportunities can be proposed and delivered.

The successful candidate will come from within the recruitment industry, either operating at a Sales/Business Development level or maybe a senior recruitment consultant seeking to take their career down the client focussed route.

They will have a background delivering to customers within the STEM / technical arena, and may have experience across multiple sectors or locations. Through mapping clients, generating leads and engaging with stakeholders, they will be able to demonstrate strong new business winning ability, and the enhancement and expansion of customer accounts. They will be focussed on customer satisfaction and exceeding delivery targets.

With an understanding of permanent, contract and project recruitment the successful candidate will bring a broad recruitment market and solutions knowledge, enabling them to spot and capitalise on current and future opportunities.

It goes without saying that the BDM will be confident of the impact they can make, possess strong consultative and collaborative skills, and be able to command credibility with stakeholders across all levels of a customer’s organisation. They will be self-driven, strong communicators, innovative and reassured negotiators.

Commercial, contractual and Statement of Work (SOW) knowledge would also be an advantage.
